My Name is Desperado von Equitania, called Janosch.

But I have a lot of Nicknames because my People say I am a real Charmer. Even though I am relativly small for a male Leo, my chances with two- and fourleged females are enormous. The Mistress of the House, who´s dog I am is absolutly mad about me. She suffered a lot because of the Anxiousness of her first Leonberger Carlos. She was permanently worried that he could cause trouble.

Then I arrived, and everything turned out like she thought a life with a Leonberger should be. Because of that, I am always a bit closer to her Heart then my Pal Niklas, even though she loves him (nearly as much as me). She says, "since I have got you, I can say - Once a Leo, always a Leo"
Well- that is some Praise for me.

But anyway a don´t suffer from an inferiority complexe. In our House I am now the "Senior-Dog" and Niklas is the "Toddler" and besides this I am the Darling of our Cats. The Cats would like me to lick and clean them permanently, but twice a day must be enough. My special friend is a two year old Boxergirl, always around me she some times is a real pain. But I am a Gentleman and would never let her know. Just like Niklas I live a perfekt (Dogs)Life, many long walks,
swimming, playing Ball and sometimes visits to the Training-Club. Is there anything else a seven year old Leo-Boy can wish for? Apart from good food, I have a bit of a Sweet-tooth, and the Mrs. calles me "The Cockroach" because I am always searching the Kitchen floor for some crumbs of Human-Food. But shape wise I am the Type "Six-pack-Belly", slim and wiry, therefor
- No Showdog. I like it comfortable and my Frontlegs stand very "french" - whitch meens
I have very nice knock-knees. But at Home nobody is taking any notice of that - they love me anyway. My talents lie elsewhere, and I have no scuples about using them. My People often say - if I had slightly naive Owners, I would be the Boss and they wouldn`t even notice it.

But that is not the way it goes at our House. I know very well where my place is, but it is fun beeing a humble Leonberger, because if you are, you get lots of Praise, Love and Treats.

You could say I live a happy and fulfilled live, and I hope (just like my Owners) that we have many more Years together.

In Rememberance,

Today we have to end the story of our beloved dog Janosch.

The night of July 17. 2007 our seniordog Janosch past away with nearly 10 1/4 years of age.

Even with it beeing far to soon for us, we are happy that he fell asleep so quiet and gently

he was struggeling because of the big heat over the weekend. On Monday he would´nt eat and seemed to be very quiet and tired. Tuesday morning we found him lying in the cool cellar, he seemed very relaxed with his eyes closed just like he was sleeping.

Because during to his age he sleept much deeper an it took him longer to wake, at first we thought that he was just fast asleep when he did´nt react to our call for the first morning walk.

But this time it was different, he died while beeing asleep over night.

With Janosch we lost a very loveable and allways jolly Leonberger. Due to his special charme he won may two- and four-legged friends.

For more than 10 years he enriched our lives enormously.

Through his gentle dead he spared us the decision to take him to the vet one day to have him put to sleep, therefore we are more than thankful.

We miss him so much and shall never forget him.

We thank his breeder Regine Twellmeyer for this wonderful dog.
