My name is Gavan vom Löwengarten, called "Bjarne"
I was born on march 19. 2008 at Rahel & Kaarina Schale´s Kennel in Drochtersen-Hüll.
Here I lived the first 5 1/2 month of my live.
But then my live was supposed to change.
On September ´05. Klaus and Marion Becker came acompanied by their Leo Luis (Brandon vom Löwengarten).
They came to have a look at our H-litter. Their Mother is Luis´s sister.
Luis and I where good pals from the first moment, and due to my calm nature I roused the Becker´s attention.
Their imagination of a new pal for Luis was as such: because Luis is very lively an loves his work and exersise, the new inmate should be rather calm and easy going. As always said - contrary Charakters attract eachother and normaly are a very good combination. - Here I was entering the game.
On the Friday afternoon Rahel, my sister Gazeba, Katinka and I went for a walk through the town Stade with Luis, Klaus and Marion. And again they were impressed by my calm nature.
On Saturday I went for another walk with the Becker´s, we strolled along the river Elbe and afterwards I visited them im their caravan.
And because I was so well behaved, I was invited to stay the night. That was fun, and I felt very comfortable. On Sunday the desicion was made, the Becker´s were talking and of course I was listening.
They thought I am a charming young Leo and would make the ideal Pal for Luis, and so my future was sealed, and I moved to Duisburg.
I felt at home very quickley, and even the cat´s liked me straight away. Luis and I are realy good friends allready, we are a good team.
The Becker´s took me to the Clubshow in Leonberg, and there I met my father, he became Clubwinner and was extremly proud.
My new live is changefull and I learn and see new things every day. - I like it -
Very soon I will start at Dogschool, and I am very excited already.

Update March 2009
I am already nearly 12 month old now and a realy powerful lad. Beginning of January i had my first experience with snow, we had about 10 cm of snow for nearly a week -
i just loved it, Luis and i went absolutly mad rollicking around in the snow.
Every Thursday we go to "Dogschool" in Hünxe-Krudenburg, i am in the Beginners-Class and always try to please my owner and our nice Trainer Gisela. She is always trying to think of varied exercises so that lessons are great fun, i realy like Thursdays. At home we don´t know any boredom either, Luis and i have a lot of fun together. Often our people say - do they evercome to an end, but we know that they are happy that we two are good mates.
I am allowed to accompany my pack on their daily walks now, just the very long walks that Luis and our Mrs. make quiet regular are still to much for me, but i gues it wouldn´t take long now and i will be allowed to do that too - can´t wait for the day to come.
On Februar 14. i took part in my first Dogshow in Rheinberg. That was a sight to be seen, i´ve never seen so may dogs of all different looks and sizes before. Some were very hectic and made a lot of noise, but the Leos vere mainly calm. I meet my sister and some of my mates there too - it was a great day out.
Mrs. Buttenhoff-Taufershöfer was judging us males dogs i was presented in the Youthclass.
I tried to do my best and got a lot of praise from my people for beeing so well behaved and hearty at my first show. And it realy was worth the effort - just imagine, Mrs Buttenhoff thought that much of me that i won the award "Rheinland-Youthchampion" and "Best young Leonbergerdog of the Show".
My People were very happy about my success. Later that day we had a special meal (green rumen) for Luis and me to celebrate.

I heard some rumour going on about something called holidays, and because my name was mentioned within these conversations i questioned Luis what this Holiday thing is. He told me it is about goning on a journey, and that we all will probably go to Switzerland this year. Luis has been there before and he told me very enthusiastic about long Trekkingtours in the Mountains, refreshing swims in Lakes and rollicking around in clear Mountainstreams. I think-i would like to try this Holiday thing - hopefully it is not to long untill we go. In any case i will let you know how i liked it in Switzerland.

Our holiday in Switzerland 2009 is over quiete a while now, and i would like to tell you about it.
It was better than i would ever allowed myself to imagine and now i know why my buddy Luis was
so over the moon about the whole thing.
It was my first holiday ever - and i can tell you - it was awesome.
I could run around and climb as much as i wanted, there were so many new impressions and smells
everywhere - the short version - a ideal holiday for us Leonbergers.
Now that i know that Luis wasn´t exaggerating i really hope we will go there again.
On March 19. i had my 2. Birthday, it is amazing how time is flying, it is quiet a long time now since i
became a " Duisburger" . Luis and i are going on great, we are a really good Leoteam and our owners
are very happy about it. With his 4 1/2 years of age Luis is a real "grown-up" against me, but he is just
as playfull and silly as me - and that is why we are having that much fun together and never get bored
Due to my norweigian Herritage i allready look a bit grey, especially around my nose, and therefore most
people that see us together don´t believe, that Luis is nearly 2 1/2 years older than me - because he has almost no grey hair at all.
Sometimes Marion (our owner) says, that she will be happy when i finaly reach the stage when i will follow
her comands just as good as Luis does, but i think, think that i´m so much younger than him, that i can
take my time growing up.
It is planed, that we will take part in some exhibition-shows this year, and now that Luis and i are both
starting in the same class Marion will have to enter the ring too - and she is not really happy about it.
The "breeding-suitable-tests" will be this year too, for me it is the first time, Luis has been tested when he
was still a youngster and now that he is a mature lad he will will do it again.
We shall see what else is coming our way this year - i will keep you informed - i promise.
